IndieGent for Mac.
A native Mac app that drives the agent CLI you already use, on the repos you already own. Free for seven days — everything on, no card.
IndieGent-2.6.1.dmg · 5.4 MB · released 6 Aug 2026
Signed with a Developer ID and notarised by Apple. It opens on first launch.
What you get
The console
Every project you work on and every session running, in one window — your repos down one side, the work you're watching beside them.
Sessions that end clean
Each session gets its own workspace and its own branch, opens a pull request, and takes the workspace with it when it goes.
Your agent, your keys
IndieGent drives the agent CLI already installed on your Mac, under your own account. It adds no model subscription of its own.
Work that carries on without you
Sessions with no terminal at all, and scheduled runs that look at your repos overnight and come back with suggestions.
Before you start
- macOS 14 Sonoma or later
- Apple silicon and Intel — one universal build.
- git
- Sessions clone, branch and push with it.
- gh
- The GitHub CLI, signed in. Issues, pull requests and your repo list come through it.
- An agent CLI
- Whichever coding agent you already run in the terminal. IndieGent drives it; it never replaces it.
IndieGent checks all of this the first time it opens, and tells you exactly what is missing.
Getting started
- 1
Open the disk image and drag IndieGent to Applications.
- 2
Launch it. The first screen runs the four checks above and links out anything you still need.
- 3
Add a project — one of your GitHub repos.
- 4
Pick an open issue and start a session. It works, you watch, a pull request lands.
That is the whole loop. Everything else is more of it at once.
It keeps itself current
New versions install themselves — IndieGent checks on its own and asks before replacing itself. Settings › Updates has a Check now button if you would rather not wait.
What it costs
Seven days with everything on, no card. After that the app keeps working on the free tier — two projects, supervised sessions — or one payment opens the rest for good, on two Macs.
